Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Review

I got Uncharted 2 back in December and I think this is my favorite video game of the decade. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has all the fun of climbing objects like Assassin’s Creed, the cover-based shooter mechanic of Gears of War and the puzzle solving from Legend of Zelda.

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune saved the PS3 from death in 2007. It raised the bar for all games from then on. Now Uncharted 2: Among Thieves raises the bar once again. One thing I loved from the first Uncharted was the Story and Characters. Nathan Drake is the hilarious Indiana Jones/Han Solo main character who delivers hilarious jokes throughout the game. Nolan North does the voice of Nathan Drake and he really brings the character to life.

The story takes place after the events of the first game. Nathan meets up with his old buddy Harry Flynn and his partner Chloe Frazer. They embark on a new adventure to find the real truth of the lost fleet of Marco Polo.

The gameplay in Uncharted 2 is divided into 3 modes that blend together well. Gears Of War type cover-shooter, Assassin’s Creed climbing/exploring and Legend Of Zelda type puzzles. The cover-shooter and climbing/exploring work flawlessly. They bring back the fun from Uncharted 2 with new animations and a very polished feel. However the Puzzle’s are fairly challenging but never stump you too much.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is very simular to Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, but it ads: better explosions, smarter enemies, online multiplayer and a brand new story with the characters you loved from the first game. However with all the new story and improvements, Uncharted 2 isn’t much different than the first game. But if you played and loved Uncharted 1. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is a must buy.
